Visa has certified QNB, a Qatar-based lender, to provide Visa Ready mobile point of sale (mPOS) terminal in Qatar to facilitate fast and secure card payments across the country.

The new mPOS solution provided in collaboration with Swiftch will enable card payments processing through a secure device that connects to smart phones via Bluetooth in the presence of the cardholder.
The new technology will cater to consumer and merchant needs for a faster and cost effective way to pay and be paid in merchant segments eliminating the need to tender exact change while paying for goods and services purchased at non-traditional locations.
The Visa Ready Program will allow hardware and software manufacturers to develop electronic payment devices, software and solutions complying with Visa requirements.
