Visa has added additional web merchants including Alaska Airlines, Chick-fil-A, Cole Haan, Emirates and Wyndam Hotel Group to its Visa Checkout card-on-file service that seeks to facilitate online and mobile payments.

The payment technology firm said that Visa Checkout has been designed especially to solve the conversion issue, by enabling payments in just a few clicks.

Cole Haan president and COO Michael Prince said: "The entire retail industry is changing – and we’re partnering with Visa to ensure we are offering the best payment options for our customers.

"With the addition of Visa Checkout, we’re making it as easy for our consumers to shop on their mobile devices as it is to swipe a card in our Cole Haan stores."

Visa Checkout has a 51% higher conversion rate among enrolled Visa Checkout customers compared to customers using a merchant’s traditional online checkout, according to a recent comScore study.
