Vipera, an international mobile commerce
provider in the Middle East will supply new mobile technology for
the Qatari Ministry of Interior (MoI).
The Metrash 2 initiative will allow people in
the region to pay for government service using debit and credit
cards.

The service developed by Vipera and offered
through its local partner in Qatar, Mannai Corporation is also
integrated with credit card processors.
The company said that there are plans for
future development that will enable the system to be fully
integrated with bank accounts for direct debit payments.
“Metrash 2 provides a secure, direct
communication channel between the Qatari government and its
citizens, and means that people can pay for all government services
from their mobile phones,” said Marco Casartelli, CEO of
Vipera.
Users of Blackberry, iPhone and android
smartphones will be able to use the service in both English and
Arabic.
