Payment services provider ValueCard has partnered with MeaWallet, a Norway-based provider of a cloud-based mobile payment platform, to offer open and closed loop mobile payment services to bank, retailers and MNOs in the Philippines.
MeaWallet’s cloud-based mobile payment platform will be used to allow payment services and other services like loyalty, coupons and more in a wallet made for the Philippine market.
The alliance will enable existing and new customers of ValueCard to add branded mobile wallets and cloud-based digital mobile payment cards to their portfolio of card products.
MeaWallet said that the open loop mobile cards, which support MasterCard and Visa cloud based mobile payment schemes, will be accepted for contactless and remote payments at merchants in the Philippines and globally.
The digital mobile payment cards will use tokenization with cloud-based security and Host Card Emulation (HCE) technology.
ValueCard founder and COO Joseph Issifu said: "This partnership means that our customers will have a faster route to mobile payments through a payment ecosystem supported by banks, retailers and MNOs, using new innovative products such as customer branded digital mobile payment cards and mobile wallets."
