US Bank has signed a card-issuing agreement with American Express as part of its strategy to accelerate card business.
Under the agreement, American Express will help design programmes for customers of US Bank beginning in the second half of 2014.
Customers will be able to order American Express-branded cards online, by phone or at one of the bank’s 3,088 branches, US Bank said in a statement.
US Bank added that it will continue its partnerships with Visa and MasterCard.
US Bank vice chairman, Pam Joseph, said: "We believe that the American Express network provides a combination of benefits and services that many of our customers want. We’re proud to partner with American Express, a company with a rich history of service that’s dedicated to providing outstanding customer value."
