U.S. Bank has enabled its FlexPerks Visa customers to instantly redeem FlexPoints for a statement credit through their mobile devices.

Customers need to first activate Real-Time Rewards, which is available to U.S. Bank FlexPerks Visa consumer and FlexPerks Business Edge Visa customers, and then make a purchase with their FlexPerks Visa card.
Customers can respond to a text message for accepting or declining a redemption offer. Offers that are accepted deliver a credit to the customer’s billing statement for the purchase amount and a deduction of FlexPoints from the customer’s point balance.
Moreover, FlexPoints can be redeemed for the most recent text message received, with only one 10-digit U.S. mobile number permitted per account.
At present, purchases from gas stations, restaurants or for travel are exempt from the service.
