United Bank for Africa (UBA) has partnered with Unified Payment Systems to launch a fast and seamless contactless payment solution, called PayAttitude.

PayAttitude is a near field communication (NFC) tag that features an internal chip which operates on NFC-enabled POS terminals at designated partner locations across Nigeria.

With PayAttitude, customers can pay for goods and services with an adhesive payment tag attachable to mobile phones or flat surfaces.

The PayAttitude tag has been designed for mobile phone users, who can perform retail trans­actions by simply tapping the phone against the PoS terminal.

The payment solution integrates with the bank’s upgraded banking platform to offer superior banking experience, advanced security and compliance framework to UBA customers across Africa, resulting in increased productivity and improved response to security and regulatory issues.

The move follows UBA’s upgrade of its IT system to a more secure and faster banking platform as well as improving the uptime and availability of its e-Channels like the POS machines and ATMs.

UBA’s divisional head for e-banking Yinka Adedeji said: "The tag can be obtained from designatedUBA business offices. We have the PayAttitude Debit and PayAttitude Prepaid depending on a customer’s preference. The introduction of this technology only reinforces our commitment to the creation of innovative payment solutions."
