UnionPay International, in partnership with Woori Card, has launched a new UnionPay Travel Mate card in South Korea.
The new card, which is a UnionPay platinum credit card, will target mainly tourists and business people to and from China, Japan and other Asian regions to provide South Korean residents with payment services in their international travels.
Cardholders will be able to use this card in the global UnionPay acceptance network, particularly at the POS of all the merchants and ATMs in the China.
The card offers benefits such as 50% of visa fee cashback, up to 20% discount for air tickets and hotels reservation, up to 10% discount for shopping at the airport duty-free shops and services including accumulation of air mileage, free parking at airports and airport lounges.
In developing the new card, both the companies have combined their resources to provide the exclusive privileges and services for South Korean cardholders traveling to China and other Asian regions.
Woori Card president Yu Ku Hyun said that the partnership is also aiming at launching and promoting UnionPay cards to deliver new payment choices to South Korean residents.
