Global payment solution provider Uniform Industrial Corporation (UIC) has joined forces with IEM, a European parking and public transportation ticketing company, to offer their new contactless technology to the French parking market.
Under the deal, both the companies have developed a solution for pay and display machines, that enables tap and go service with Visa payWave, MasterCard PayPass, and Near Field Communication (NFC)-enabled mobile phones for the French market.
UIC680, the contactless payment device developed by UIC, is integrated with IEM’s existing payment system and allow offering a range of payment options on low powered devices. This device consists of an EMV contactless reader that works on low power.
The Tap and go solution will enable the customers to tap their card or mobile phone to the payment device on the parking meter to make the transaction.
The Presto Pay NFC is expected to be released by IEM in France in the coming months and will expand the solution to nearby countries in Europe later.
UIC Sales & Marketing vice president Winston Fong said, "This is a way for IEM to stay competitive and innovative, since France is in the forefront of contactless payment in Europe."
