Canada-based UGO Mobile Solution has added a new peer-to-peer (P2P) money transfer feature to its digital wallet, UGO Wallet.
Called Ugo Pay, the P2P money transfer service will initially be available in beta. It will be supported across iOS, Android and BlackBerry mobile platforms, allowing customers to digitally send and receive money securely and easily from their phones.
Using Ugo Pay, users will be able to load money from Visa or MasterCard credit cards or Visa debit cards on to UGO Pay, and transfer via text message. The transactions are free and can be made either using an existing address book or mobile phone number.
The company expects to add new features and options to the platform in the coming months.
UGO CEO Alec Morley said: "With the addition of UGO Pay, our wallet now offers more functionality on more smartphones than any other digital wallet in Canada today.
"Our customers have already added nearly half a million loyalty, gift and payment cards to their UGO Wallets, and UGO Pay is another example of how we continue to bring to market the combined features and capabilities that allow users to simplify their lives."
