U.S. Bank, a commercial bank card issuer, has joined forces with MasterCard to offer its customers access to fast and secure digital payments with Masterpass at participating merchants.

The partnership will also allow users to leverage Masterpass to make purchases in-app or online payment for a range of services, including a train ticket, buying groceries, splitting the check or paying right at a restaurant table.

U.S. Bank customers using Android devices can use this service at more than six million contactless-enabled vendors’ globally.

MasterCard said that that Masterpass stores all payment information, such as card details from both MasterCard and other payment networks, shipping information, and payment preferences in one convenient, secure place.

U.S. Bank Retail Payments Services Division head of product and marketing Clifford Cook said: “Joining forces with MasterCard to offer a digital payment solution gives our MasterCard customers the flexibility to pay how they choose.

“By using Masterpass, our customers can know with confidence that they are paying with trusted technology, whether they are a small business buying equipment at an office supply store or a family of four dining at their favorite neighborhood restaurant.”
