The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), a US government agency provisioning unemployment benefits and services related to employment, has selected U.S. Bank to issue Visa-brand new prepaid cards in Texas.

The agency will replace Chase Bank debit card with new U.S. Bank ReliaCard, which will offer claimants with a fast, safe and easy way of receiving their unemployment benefits.
The ReliaCard also provides additional benefits such as a mobile app, email and text alerts, and a large number of free (in-network) ATMs.
U.S. Bank has informed all current TWC debit card claimants on 24 May about the upcoming debit card changes and explained how it will affect those receiving unemployment benefits.
Starting 20 June, current unemployment claimants receiving benefits on a debit card will receive a ReliaCard in the mail from U.S. Bank.

Using the U.S. Bank prepaid card, the claimants can shop, get cash, and pay bills everywhere Visa card is accepted. If the prepaid card is lost or stolen, funds available on the card are protected.
