Teller, an international card payment acquirer in the Nordic region, has collaborated with UK-based Powa Technologies to deploy the firm’s PowaTag payment technology at its client base of 94,000 merchants spread across more than 20 European countries.

PowaTag technology enables customers to make purchases anywhere, any time by scanning the tags on products, posters and radio broadcasts.

Powa Technologies CEO Dan Wagner said: "This partnership establishes further Powa’s growing reputation as an emerging market leader that’s transforming the way people shop in a multi-channel environment."

"Our technology provides new capabilities for many of the world’s largest retailers and brands, so it is important for us to work with a trusted and secure payment market leader across the region."

Powa claims that its technology will help merchants to leverage multiple channels for generating more sales. Powa’s solutions are said to be fully customizable, enabling customers to pay through smartphones via printed tags, printed media, billboards and even TV and radio broadcasts.

Till date, more than 385 global brands including Electrolux, Carrefour and Universal Music have adopted the Powa solution, reports Finextra.
