Telefónica Digital and Research In Motion
(RIM) are collaborating on a pilot mobile wallet for Blackberry
devices.
This comes after Telefónica and RIM recently
announced a trial of their NFC-based payment and identity card
system – Telefónica Wallet for Blackberry.

350 employees from Telefónica’s Madrid-based
headquarters are taking part.
Those involved in the trial will be able to
make payments by taping their NFC-enabled Blackberry smartphone
against a reader.
Matthew Key, CEO of Telefónica Digital said:

be able to take the contents of their wallets and put them on their
mobiles.
“Trials such as this are important to ensuring
a great customer experience and we look forward to seeing the
launch of commercial wallet services in several markets next
