British startup Tedipay has partnered with Russian contactless payment solution provider CardsMobile to create an open wearables platform for mobile payments and smart transit ticketing.

Tedipay developed a wearables solution with NFC interface based on EMV-compliant Secure Element powered by the same chip as used by Apple Pay.

In addition to NFC interface, Tedipay’s wearables platform also features Bluetooth Low Energy for seamless integration with any smartphone.

BY integrating this solution with CardsMobile’s MasterCard-certified mobile platform, Tedipay hopes to bring into the mainstream such use cases as bank card aggregation (CardsMobile’s wallet-like applications), mass transit, IT security and access control, and others.

Tedipay CEO Alexander Peschkoff said: "When it comes to mobile payments, our partnership with CardsMobile will enable banks worldwide to offer their customers greater convenience and flexibility on an unprecedented scale. TEDIPAY delivers the same user experience as Apple Pay, but via open wearables platform.

CardsMobile CEO Kirill Gorynya said: "Secure weareables platform coupled with an API-based TSM service opens up numerous possibilities and allows Tedipay to further enhance their value proposition and to create unique compelling ecosystem for major global players in the fields of mobile payments, transit ticketing, and online security."
