Japanese department store chain operator Takashimaya and the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) have started issuing JCB credit cards.
Cardholders will receive points whenever they shop at retail outlets and restaurants in Saigon Centre and all Takashimaya department stores including Singapore, Shanghai and Japan. The accumulated points can be redeemed for gift cards and other rewards.
Takashimaya Vietnam president Hideyuki Yamamoto said: “We are already issuing JCB brand cards in Japan, and we are excited to be able to do the same in Vietnam. Adding the JCB international card to our brand means that our customers can take advantages of JCB's wide acceptance and money saving privileges, enhancing the status of the card."
JCB International (JCBI) deputy president Kimihisa Imada said: “This new alliance will enable Takashimaya to improve customer services and Vietcombank and JCBI to promote shopping by cardmembers as well as expand the JCB cardmember base in Vietnam.”
When cardholders earn 200,000 points or more, they can get a bonus point gift card worth VND200,000 ($8.97).
