Stripe, an American startup that allows developers integrate payments into their site or app with a few lines of code, has announced the ability for users to accept payments in more than 130 currencies.
Online businesses in the US and Europe using Stripe can instantly handle nearly any currency, from Euros to US Dollars, Algerian Dinar to Chinese Renmibi.
Stripe co-founder and CEO Patrick Collison said that Stripe’s mission is to grow Internet commerce by providing everything an online business needs to accept payments.
"Built-in multicurrency support is another example of how Stripe is helping businesses scale faster and more efficiently," Collison added.
The company said that it will automatically handle all necessary conversions and perform daily deposits in its users’ bank accounts.
Stripe’s API, payment connectivity, and rapidly-growing global reach replace a complicated matrix of bank accounts, gateways and subscriptions managers.
