STMicroelectronics has signed an agreement with Entrust Datacard to participate in its Card Validation Program (CVP).

The program will enable ST validate the compatibility of its STPay EMV smart-card solutions with Datacard personalisation solutions before full implementation.

ST participation in the program is aimed at making it easier and faster for customers to deploy the company’s STPay smart-card chip range.

The program will allow ST to provide STPay EMV payment smart-card solutions, such as Java and Multos operating systems.

In addition, it will help the company cover an extensive range of payment applications including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, or JCB, in contact and dual-interface modes.
