South Africa’s Standard Bank has signed a deal to
allow its internet banking customers to make online cash payments
using Ukash.
The agreement with the global e-money network
enables the bank’s internet banking account holders to make cash
payments using Ukash vouchers when shopping online through its
Autopay system.

“Our aim is to provide a safe and secure
environment for consumers to use cash electronically, and this
relationship adds simplicity to our offer by enabling Standard Bank
account holders in South Africa to get Ukash vouchers,” said David
Hunter, chief executive officer of Ukash.
The deal is expected to strengthen the bank’s
hold over the South African e-cash market.
