Stage Stores, a US-based neighbourhood retailer, has partnered with the payment technology company Ingenico Group and Chase Paymentech to implement point-to-point encryption (P2PE) for its 900 stores across the US.

The partnership will allow customers shopping at Stage Stores’ five brands namely Bealls, Goody’s, Palais Royal, Peebles and Stage to transact on Ingenico Telium terminals using Chase’s Safetech encryption.

Ingenico Group’s PCI-validated On-Guard technology will provide merchants with a data security strategy to protect payment information besides supporting them with a clear roadmap for PCI P2PE approval.

Under the partnership, Ingenico Group will update Stage Stores’ devices through its Estate Manager platform to activate the Safetech solution without being removed from service.

Ingenico Group senior vice president of Product and Development Gregory Boardman said: "Retailers are keenly aware of the necessity of protecting card data across their networks and the Safetech solution provides powerful protection for Stage Stores against data compromise.
