Square Market, an e-commerce and mobile payments site, is allowing customers to pay using Bitcoin in transactions with merchants.

Through its partnership with Bitcoin processor Coinbase, buyers can use the digital currency to purchase goods and services and allow sellers to create an online storefront with online payment processing.

Buyers can use the "Pay with Bitcoin" option on Square Market, which generates a new Bitcoin address that is monitored throughout the checkout process to verify the payment has been received.

After submitting their payment, customers can open their mobile wallet to then scan a QR code provided to load the transaction details.

Customers with a hosted Bitcoin wallet will receive instructions via email on how to carry out payments.

All Bitcoin transactions will include a processing fee of 2.75%, with the seller receiving the amount of the purchased goods or services in USD.
