Buy-now-pay-later-tech firm Splitit Payments has joined forces with Visa to support instalment payments for merchants globally.

Under the agreement, Splitit will use the Visa Developer Platform to facilitate innovation in instalment payments worldwide.

At the same time, Splitit will combine with Visa Installment Solutions, which offers users of Visa more authority on how to pay for a purchase.

Splitit’s merchant network will now gain access to Visa Installment Solutions.

Besides, the two parties will assess opportunities for the development of new offerings.

Splitit CEO Brad Paterson said: “We share a similar vision to make it easier for consumers and merchants to pay and be paid in instalments.”

Paterson added: “Partnerships like this one are a major plank in our strategy to accelerate growth, and we look forward to working closely with Visa to help our merchant partners provide an enhanced customer experience.”

Splitit’s suite includes instalment payment solution for debit cards in the US and Europe.

It also offers Multi-Card Payment, which enables customers to split one purchase between different credit and debit cards.

Last September, Splitit introduced a B2B credit card instalment payment solution.

Earlier this year, Splitit teamed up with digital payments firm Stripe, making the latter the payment facilitator for its new merchant clients.
