Spire Payments has launched a new mPOS solution, called Pinpago, in Spain in collaboration with local savings bank association EURO 6000.

The newly launched solution utilises Spire Payments’ latest mPOS device, the SPm20. The device is enabled by a bespoke payment mobile app which is downloaded to the merchant’s smart device of choice.

Payment transactions can be performed for all major credit and debit cards including VISA, MasterCard, Maestro, Visa Electron, V-Pay and JCB, according to Spire Payments.

The SPm20 is a versatile mobile payment platform which can be used by the micro merchant and in environments demanding higher throughput (SME and Tier 1 & 2 retailers).

EURO 6000 director of marketing Luis Alvarez-Cascos said: “EURO 6000 see Pinpago mPOS as a key part of our growth strategy and the selection of Spire Payments to provide the best platform for our Pinpago project is a significant milestone in this journey.

“Our selection process was based on multiple demanding factors including security, robustness, long battery life and simplicity of use. The Spire Payments’ solution met all these requirements, while also delivering speed to market thanks to the powerful development environment. We look forward to working together in the coming years to deliver many more value-add services to our small merchants.”
