Germany-based Sparda Bank has reached an agreement with global payment company MasterCard to offer digital wallet platform MasterPass to nearly 700,000 customers in the country.
The new e-payment channel, which is expected to be available through Internet during the fourth quarter of this year, will enable the bank’s customers in Germany to execute convenient and secure online payment using a mobile phone or in a store.
The fundamental technology of the wallet platform was developed for the Sparda Banks Group by Worldline, which comply with MasterCard’s specification.
MasterCard’s MasterPass solution enables consumers to make purchases 24/7 and do not require customers to register.
