Souq.com, a UAE-based online retail and marketplace platform, has partnered with MasterCard to offer its customers a seamless payment solution to complete purchases using MasterCard’s payment system.
To improve shopping and payment experience, MasterCard will use insights through its data analytics platform to develop an understanding of shopper behaviour on Souq.com.
MasterCard president for Middle East and Africa Raghu Malhotra said: "We are excited about bringing advanced payment capabilities to Souq.com and giving customers an even better online shopping experience. MasterCard is building capabilities and working with e-commerce industry leaders like Souq.com to provide shoppers with an online experience that is not just easy and convenient, but also safe, secure, personalized and relevant."
Souq.com CEO and co-founder Ronaldo Mouchawar said: "We have a long standing partnership with MasterCard and together we are committed to growing e-payments in the Middle East, particularly through m-commerce which is currently experiencing a huge uplift.
"M-commerce has been a huge driver for e-commerce growth in the region and credit card payments further simplify the shopping on-the-go, as one can save payment details on the device and pay on click of a button."
The two companies also agreed to collaborate on joint marketing campaigns.
