SOSB has rolled out a new biometric credit card and transaction system.
Both the card and platform were launched this week, at the 2014 National Retail Federation’s Loss Prevention Conference and Expo in Florida, according to biometricupdate.com.
Known as SOSB’s "Safe Card," the card itself is equipped with the biometric data and the verification of biometric data is carried out using a SOSB Safe Card reader.
The reader matches the data from the card to a live fingerprint image taken of the user, according to the publication.
The company told the publication, that its system has been designed for the needs of identification of a user in areas without common forms of connectivity, since the card contains the data.
