Commercial bank Sohar International is expanding its eFloos footprint with new merchants.
eFloos digital wallet is a mobile payment service that allows smartphone users to carry out transactions at any of the bank’s partner merchants. It includes the feature of sending and receiving funds to and from other wallets.
The bank has partnered with new business groups to offer mobile payment through its mobile payment service, eFloos, in collaboration with Omantel.
The expansion allows eFloos users to make transactions for several products and services available across the country through mobile.
The new agreements have been signed with Carrefour, Tim Horton’s, Ajmal Perfumes, Argan Gold, Baskin Robbins, Kargeen, Begums, Lunar Cinema, Moorish, Oman Phones, Ravenna Kunafa, Cleopatra, Subway and Caribou Coffee.
Under the deals, the registered merchant groups will offer eFloos as a payment mode at their stores across Oman.

By GlobalDataSohar International chief retail banking officer Khalil Al Hedaifi said: “With an addition of new business groups to our mobile payment gateway, eFloos customers now have access to over 461 businesses and an easy payment method across the country.
“Through the use of eFloos, businesses can now bridge the digitisation gap they have faced previously. Helping them reach out to today’s digitally savvy customers, and hence expanding their overall customer base.”
Users can download the ‘eFloos’ application for iOS or Android through Apple Store and Play Store respectively.
