Digital payments company Skrill has teamed up with the American digital entertainment developer Linden Lab to integrate the Skrill Digital Wallet as a payment option for users of Second Life, a real-time multiplayer virtual world.
The MUD’s (Multi-User Dungeon) virtual economy allows users to buy Linden Dollars (L$) with their currency of choice at the market exchange rate, which are then used to purchase a wide variety of user-created virtual products and services in the Second Life marketplace.

Skrill’s digital wallet powered by Skrill 1-Tap, the firm’s recurring payment solution, will eliminate the need for fetching user information multiple times providing users with a secure and simple way to send and receive Linden Dollars.
Skrill will offer Second Life users around the world with more than 100 payment methods through its Digital Wallet, including local payment options for international Second Life users.
Linden Lab CFO Malcolm Dunne said: "By integrating with Skrill, we’ve expanded the options for Second Life users to process their online payments, which is a critical piece of our product."
