UnionPay International and Singapore Airlines have signed an agreement that will enable the airline and its subsidiary Silk Air to accept UnionPay cards.
The agreement will allow the cardholders in the Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong and Singapore to pay using UnionPay cards at the official website of Singapore Airlines or Silk Air.
With the new agreement, the airline becomes the third airline in south-east Asia that accepts UnionPay cards, following AirAsia and Tiger Airways.
“After filling in departure time and personal information, cardholders can select ‘UnionPay Card’ to pay.
“UnionPay Online Payment adopts a self-developed Internet security framework and can comprehensively guarantee the security of online purchase by multiple security and risk-monitoring measures,” UnionPay said in a statement.
