South Korean retailer Shinsegae Group has introduced a new mobile payment system called SSG Pay.
The new payment option can be availed at Shinsegae Group affiliated units, including Shinsegae Department Store and E-Mart, WithMe convenience stores, Starbucks, Premium Outlet, and SSG.com.
It includes features such as automatic point accumulation, automatic issuance of e-receipt or cash receipt, and automatic payment of parking fees.
SSG Pay can be used by downloading the SSG Pay application and charging it with e-currency SSG money or by using the credit card registered in the SSG Pay account. Its app will soon be interfaced with a bank account to support the debit payment function.
The retailer has also unveiled plans to expand the service to other business partners such as gas stations and movie theaters.
