Shell has introduced the new Real Time Detection technology for its euroShell Card, which can detect criminal behaviour within seconds.

The new technology is based on the same system which is followed by banks to detect credit card fraud, and is said to be faster and accurate than euroShell Card’s previous fraud detection technology, reports Fleetworld.

The technology can filter up to 260 million Shell fuel card transactions every year based on specific payment parameters, and then use it to flag suspicious activity in real time.

With the new system, customisable smart alerts will be sent to fleet operators when payment is attempted beyond approved limit.
Individual or bulk card blocking facilities are also available through the Shell Card Online management tool along with support from
Shell’s dedicated team of fraud experts who review transactions with up-to-date country specific and fraud trend knowledge.

The design and functionality of Shell’s online platform, Shell Card Online, has also undergone a change, which now includes more intuitive navigation and advanced control over setting fuel card usage limits, easier bulk card ordering, and personalised reports that address answers to specific questions.
