Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has teamed up with Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) to launch a co-branded platinum credit card.
Known as ICBC Shangri-La Credit Card, the new offering is touted to be the China’s first high-end platinum credit card that features a metallic logo of card networks.
Equipped with chip, the new credit card offers more secure and convenient payment services home and overseas through partnership with UnionPay, MasterCard and Visa.
Shangri-La Hotels said that the new card features ICBC’s special financial function that supports 10 foreign currencies in one card.
Additionally, the credit card uses advanced product design of dual numbers, and acts as an ICBC platinum credit card as well as a Shangri-La Golden Circle member card for automatic points earning at point of sale.
Cardholders can enjoy privileges and benefits for food and room experiences at Shangri-La properties across the globe.

By GlobalDataThey can also earn triple points for spend at all Shangri-La hotels and resorts, enjoy a 15% discount when dining at Shangri-La hotels and are exempt from the first-year annual card fee.
Additional benefits include a 10% discount on available rates for guestrooms; up to 20% off annual membership fees for fitness centres; fast-tracked membership upgrade; and 1,000 bonus Golden Circle Award Points for new cards upon spending over RMB30,000 ($4,524.47) within three months of card issuance.
