State Bank of India (SBI) has launched a State Bank RuPay Platinum debit card for affluent customers in partnership with National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
The debit card offers a range of benefits such as 5% cash back on utility bill payments, up to 1% fuel surcharge waiver, complimentary airport lounge access and concierge services.
In addition, the card provides complimentary welcome discount vouchers and also personal accidental death and permanent total disability insurance cover of INR200,000 ($3,125).
SBI chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya said: "As the undisputed market leader in India with close to 20 Crore cards and more than a third of the total debit cards, SBI has been at the forefront in offering distinctive value and choice to its cardholders."
NPCI MD and CEO A. P. Hota said: "We feel proud to be associated with the country’s largest bank issuing RuPay card which comes with special features for the convenience of customers that is accepted at all payment channels – ATM, PoS and eCommerce."
