SAS, in partnership with MasterCard and Rêv Worldwide, has launched the first co-branded multi-currency prepaid card for the airline industry in Europe.
Issued by Catella Bank, the new MasterCard Eurobonus Travel Cash prepaid card offers SAS Eurobonus members a single piece of plastic that includes a frequent flyer card as well as a globally accepted payment card.
The multiple purse card allows users to hold multiple currencies on it at the same time. It supports up to 12 currencies, enabling cardholders remotely load the card through a bank account in their local currency and subsequently exchange currencies before traveling.
The card has been equipped with MasterCard’s latest Contactless MasterCard technology.
Catella Bank prepaid head Marc Becker said: “Catella is proud to be the issuer of the SAS Eurobonus prepaid card. Combining the frequent flyer card with a truly innovative, contactless and multi-currency payment card creates added value for the consumer and confirms Catella’s position in prepaid.”
