SafeCharge has introduced a new solution that will enable small businesses and merchants accept digital payments amid Covid-19 crisis.
The solution, called SafeCharge Local, will enable consumers pay for their purchases online reducing close contact at POS.
Developed in collaboration with Visa, SafeCharge Local allows businesses to accept payment through the use of QR codes.
They can also create a secure payment page for completing transactions for orders placed over the phone.
Additionally, the programme features a control panel that allows merchants to manage and view their payment activity.
SafeCharge managing director and global acquiring head Yuval Ziv said: “Our focus throughout Covid-19 has been to leverage our technology, flexibility and industry knowledge to provide struggling businesses with the tools required to survive this crisis.

By GlobalData“Our principal clients are ecommerce merchants and ideally placed to adapt or potentially thrive throughout the crisis. However, as we quickly recognised the impact to the economic landscape, we wanted to help businesses at risk of bankruptcy, particularly those providing essential goods and services to their communities.”
According to the company, the new solution can be implemented without much investments in technical development or resources. The programme can also be used across several mobile devices offering additional flexibility to the merchants in accepting digital payments.
Visa head of merchant sales and acquiring for UK & Ireland Dominic White said: “Businesses of all sizes are navigating an overnight shift to digital amidst the global pandemic.
“As consumers continue to embrace digital payments for their everyday spend, Visa is working with partners like SafeCharge to provide the help and resources businesses need to adapt as they rebuild for the future.”
SafeCharge is a payments technology firm offering omni-channel payment services. The company was acquired by Nuvei last year in an $889m deal.
