S2M, a provider of card payment solutions, has implemented Cryptomathic’s EMV data preparation system CardInk to improve the issuance of its EMV chip card portfolio.
The new solution will integrate CardInk for data preparation and an Automation Utility, offered by Cryptomathic, for interfacing with S2M’s card management system as well as controlling automatic processing of incoming data files.
The two systems, offered by Cryptomathic, can interface with the existing platform for personalisation within the current solution.
CardInk is hardware vendor agnostic, offering S2M with technical and strategic flexibility to work with any third party vendors in the future.
The solution is expected to help support S2M’s customer demand across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

By GlobalDataCryptomathic senior vice president, Middle East and Africa Amru Kotb said: "S2M was already producing cards before migration, so continuity of service was crucial throughout this project. System down time was not an option.
"As we weren’t able to create and re-certify cryptographic keys, we delivered a proprietary tool that enabled the secure transfer of all cryptographic material from the old system to the new one.
"This resulted in a new platform which was ready to go straight into production. We were also able to offer S2M significant cost savings on the solution, as CardInk could reuse parts of the existing infrastructure, including the hardware security modules."
