Turkey is set to be the first foreign country to deploy the new national bank card service system of Russia.

Russian president Putin stated that they will invest in Turkey to settle the payment system, owing to the high number of Russian tourists visiting Turkey every year.

Putin was quoted as saying by Do?an News Agency: "Last year alone, 4.5 to five million of our citizens spent their vacations in Turkey. As the number is so high, it will enable [Russian citizens] to pay with Russian bank cards.

"We will gradually settle with our partners abroad, which will make lives easier for tourists. Only time and investment is needed to settle the system."

The card system is slated to be launched both in Russia as well as abroad by the end of 2015.
