Qatar’s leading online and electronic services provider Qtel has
agreed to an e-banking deal with QIB.

The new arrangement allows QIB customers to
use the bank’s 120 ATMs across Qatar to pay for Qtel services. As
well as paying their monthly bills, customers can also request
international calling cards and Ebhar internet cards.

The move is aimed at widening e-banking
channels to provide improved standards of banking and communication
services.

“The agreement with Qtel enables QIB customers
to manage their Qtel bills through QIB ATMs, giving them a
user-friendly platform, backed by a high level of security and
privacy,” said D. Anand, general manager of the Retail Banking
Group of QIB.

“We believe that globalisation requires
integrated services and ATM technology that allow customers to
withdraw, transfer and deposit cash as well as pay their
bills.”

The service, currently available to QIB
customers only, will soon be open to non QIB customers. It will
also be accessible through QIB e-channels.
