Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has partnered with NCR to implement various technology and security solutions developed by NCR for its ATMs.

Under the deal, QIB will buy NCR skimming protection solution (SPS) to address ATM skimming challenges and deliver maximum protection and convenience for its customers.

To implement SPS, QIB will update its IT infrastructure with security firewalls, network access control, data centre switches and telephony system.

QIB has already implemented Solidcore Suite for APTRA, the ATM whitelisting software that protects ATMs from insider attacks by preventing the introduction of unauthorised code on the network and maintaining its integrity and availability.

QIB chief information officer, Ghazi Qarout, said their agreement with NCR will deliver the latest software and hardware technology to protect QIB banking platforms so they can sharpen their focus on productivity and protect their clients’ data.

“NCR brings a unique vision for transforming our IT Infrastructure and ATM channel through software platforms, consulting and hardware enablement, helping us speed our innovation, improve our customer experience and build on a roadmap deemed for success,” Qarout added.
