Proxama, a digital payment solutions provider for card issuing banks and processors, has wrapped up the integration of Discover’s D-Payment Application Specification (D-PAS) contactless product into its EMV enablement solution.

The EMV technology will support the release and use of chip cards from multi-purpose charge card provider Diners Club South Africa.

Proxama EVP for strategic accounts and partnerships at digital payments division Patrick Regester said: "The addition of D-PAS to our EMV enablement solution is a real milestone for Proxama.

"Our EMV enablement solution’s ability to support any flavour of EMV contact and contactless application both for card issuing and authorisation makes it the most flexible, lowest risk and most cost effective means of migrating to EMV available to card issuers, with the added benefit that these tried and trusted components form the core of our mobile payments solution, providing a built-in roadmap to mobile."
