Planet Payment, a provider of international and multi-currency payment processing services, has signed an agreement with Visa to offer payment processing solutions to acquirers and merchants across the globe.
Under the deal, credit card giant will offer Planet Payment’s global transaction processing platform to support a back-end settlement solution for customers utilizing Visa’s payment solution Accelerated Connection Platform (ACP) – which offer users with access to new payment technologies by authorizing transition directly to Visa.

The direct connection to Visa will provide merchants and their customers’ access to a range of point-of-sale technologies, loyalty programs, and real time offer redemption.
Planet Payment CEO Carl Williams said: "We look forward to working with Visa to deploy innovative payment solutions and infrastructure to drive card acceptance and deliver value-added services merchants can use to increase sales and customer satisfaction in emerging and frontier markets across the globe."
The two entities first partnered to deliver turn-key point-of-sale and ATM processing solutions to Visa customers in Myanmar, followed by the collaboration to deliver a processing solution to support Visa’s project with Group Bimbo in Mexico.
