Online payments firm UOL BoaCompra has expanded its presence in Latin America by launching operations in Uruguay.
“Aiming million online users in a country with a GDP per capita of $15,220, Uruguay was a natural choice for UOL BoaCompra’s expansion in Latin America,” the payments firm said in a statement.
UOL BoaCompra offers over 150 local payment methods and works with more than 300 partners, focusing on monetising for international platforms.
The company set up its presence in Latin America in 2004, and also has operations in Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Colombia, and Chile.
UOL BoaCompra general manager Alain Delcourt said: “With our support, international companies can boost their sales in a country with one of the highest internet penetration rates in Latin America (83%).
“BoaCompra simplifies any local payments in Uruguayan Pesos (UYU) with six different local payment methods and a 24×7 Spanish speaking customer support.”
