Mobile card payment provider Payleven has signed a Europe-wide distribution agreement with Ingram Micro, a wholesale distributor of IT products.
Under the agreement, Ingram will distribute Payleven’s Chip & PIN card reader in Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, the UK, Spain and Poland.
Designed to connect through bluetooth to an app on a smartphone or tablet, the Chip & PIN card reader allows small and medium-sized businesses, from restaurant owners, to shop assistants, to taxi drivers to accept debit or credit card payments while on the move.
Payleven provides a platform for processing mobile payments, charging a commission of 2.75% per transaction.
Commenting on the agreement, Payleven founder and CEO Konstantin Wolff, said: "The fact that Ingram Micro is incorporating our Chip & PIN technology into its product portfolio is an important step for the mobile card payment business.
"Through this, the free availability of mPOS technology commercially will be significantly expanded, which will make it considerably easier for our customers to directly acquire Chip & PIN terminals at a dealer of their choice."
