German coalition loyalty program PAYBACK has unveiled a new mobile shopping option, a digital card, for its customers.
The product, which will be available for users from June 2016, was showcased by PAYBACK CEO Dominik Dommick and Philipp Digital Services director PhilippBlome at EHI conference in Bonn, Germany.
The new digital card will be based on QR code and NFC technology, according to PAYBACK.
Dommick said: "Our 28 million PAYBACK customers can now decide whether they want to continue collecting points as usual with the card, or whether they want to do so using the app.
"Unlike the card, our new product combines points collection, coupons and mobile payment for the first time.
"According to market research, 86% of our app users think the digital card is an attractive option, and 36% want to use it to pay in the future."
