Oberthur Technologies (OT), a France-based provider in digital security solutions for mobility, has unveiled a new contactless Visa and MasterCard-approved payment sticker from its Flybuy wearables range.
The new stickers are user-friendly and will provide security and convenience for customers who do not have NFC-compatible phones.
The customers need to fix the sticker to their phone, following which, it will transform into a payment support. It is considered to be fully secured as it is based on EMV technology.
In order to make a payment, users must wave their phone in front of a contactless terminal, the company said.
OT provides issuers and their customers with a guide of recommended sticker locations for the most common handsets (top, bottom, vertical, horizontal).
OT managing director of the payment business unit Eric Duforest said: "This is one of OT’s ultimate wearable solutions offering flexibility to end-users who do not have NFC-compatible phones."
