Oberthur Technologies (OT) has developed the first debit card certified by MasterCard leveraging Cosmo v5 M/Chip Multi-Application that allows use of two unaffiliated debit networks.
The newly developed debit card also comply with the Durbin Amendment guidelines, which require issuers to identify two unaffiliated debit networks, for each debit or prepaid card they issue.

Developed on OT’s Global Platform compliant and java-based operating systems, OT’s Cosmo RSA v5 M/Chip Multi-Application is competent to support dynamic data authentication.
The new platform has been specifically designed to support the combination of MasterCard debit and the US debit "Maestro US, according to OT.
