Nigeria’s First Bank has partnered with Unified Payments, a card-neutral payments service provider, to introduce a Chip and PIN enabled contactless payments solution, called PayAttitude.
PayAttitude will use NFC (Near Field Communication) technology to link customers’ mobile phones to their debit or pre-paid mobile wallets enabling access to their account(s) for different payment transactions in a ‘tap and go’ fashion.
The solution, being deployed by Unified Payments, will allow authorising transactions offline up to the value of the customer’s mobile wallet subscription with the bank.
FirstBank GMD/CEO Bisi Onasanya said: "The PayAttitude tag card is ready to be issued in selected branches and would be deployed in all FirstBank locations in due course."
