Brixton Pound mobile app, a new app powered by iBeacon technology from Dingo, is set to be launched in July 2014 that will allow customers to make purchases using the paper currency, Brixton Pound, through their iPhones .

The app will allow businesses in Brixton, South West London, to accept the Brixton Pound, a local currency valid only in the Brixton district. Additionally, it will allow customers to make purchases using the local currency through their iPhones.

The new mobile app features a simple interface for using the Brixton Pound, and a new Dingo payment solution.

When a customer steps inside any business that accepts the Brixton Pound, the app will automatically create a shortcut on the lock screen of the phone, allowing users to pay for everything within seconds.

This is possible with the usage of iBeacon technology and small bluetooth devices present inside every business.

The Brixton Pound app will be available for download at the App Store for free, with an Android version expected to follow in summer.
