National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) has launched a new credit and prepaid card security service in collaboration with MasterCard and Visa.

The new service, known as NBK Secure Online Shopping Service, will make use of 3D Secure technology to offer customers the highest level of credit and prepaid card protection against unauthorised usage during online shopping.

The 3D secure service offers an additional authentication level by confirming customer identity with a dedicated 3D passcode.

Customers of the bank can register for this service online on the bank’s website before using their cards at participating 3D secure merchants that include the Verified by Visa or MasterCard Secure Code sign.

Customers will also have to create a passcode, which will serve as their unique online identifier.
