The Nairobi County Government has unveiled a payment platform for Public Service Vehicles (PSV) owners that allow them to pay for their seasonal tickets online.

Deputy Governor Jonathan Mueke stated that the new e-payment will reduce time as well as corruption at payment points across the county. He added that it will also triple revenue, which will in turn, boost service delivery to Nairobi residents.

Mueke said: "We are going cashless and we are computerising all our revenue collection."

The e-payment system for private motorists is expected to be rolled out in two weeks, in addition to a metered parking system, where vehicle owners will only pay for the amount of time they park.

Mueke indicated that the platform has also been made available to all of City Hall tenants.

Motorists and rent payers can pay their bills through the county government’s online platform by logging into the website address, epayments.nairobi.go.ke, and selecting parking or house and markets from the menu on the left panel.
